Art Guidelines

Download a PDF version of the art requirements (viewable with Acrobat Reader).

Black & White, camera ready, color separated artwork to size (600 dpi laser printer or higher). If sending digital artwork please continue be sure to review file format and emailing requirements below.

  • Specified imprint size/dimensions (ie. 4" across, to maximum imprint dimensions)
  • Diagram showing imprint location(s) (ie. cover, bottom right corner)
  • Imprint colors) have been specified one of the following ways:
    1. Specific PMS colors requested
    2. If there is not specific PMS colors, please provide us with a color layout (or color swatch) for all art to ensure accurate rendering. (This layout should appear as close as possible to what you hope the final product imprint will look like)
  • Please proof all files prior to sending to ensure quality service. This includes not only artwork, but all content such as grammar, addresses, phone numbers and names. CMC cannot be held responsible for correcting these types of errors upon receiving files
Preferred Digital Formats

Adobe Illustrator [ v 6.0-9.0 ]

EPS or AI files are original Adobe Illustrator files and are the preferred format. They contain workable vector graphics and can be scaled to any size and printed at any resolution with no loss in detail or clarity. This format is ideal for small type and logos since it produces crisp lines and superior reproduction quality.

CONVERT ALL FONTS TO OUTLINES (If you cannot convert your text to outline you must supplied us with all MACINTOSH Postscript Font Suitcases, PC & True Type fonts are NOT ACCEPTABLE)

Adobe Photoshop [ up to v5.5 ]

Be sure that image is at least 300 dpi, 600 dpi is preferred. FOR ONE COLOR JOBS ONLY- ART FEES MAY APPLY IF MULTI COLOR IMPRINT Resaving Photoshop files as EPS does NOT convert your art to an acceptable vector based EPS file format. It simply renames your file.

Acceptable Media

Jaz, Zip, CD-ROM, floppy (MAC formatted diskettes preferred - we cannot guarantee that artwork saved or sent from PC platforms will work)

Sending Artwork Via Email

Prior to e-mailing, copies of all files being sent MUST BE FAXED (to verify appearance of our digital output)

PLEASE INCLUDE ALL PLACED IMAGES / LINKED FILES. If more than one file is being sent be sure to put all files into a folder and compress the folder (USING ZIP, STUFFIT, SEA)

Fax & email should include the following information:

  • Your Company Name
  • Product Description (i.e. mugs & pens)
  • Name of the CMC salesperson (you are working with)

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO SUPPLY US WITH ARTWORK IN MENTIONED FORMATS PLEASE CALL US TO DISCUSS OTHER ART OPTIONS. ADDITIONAL FEES MAY APPLY DEPENDING ON COMPLEXITY OF WORK NEEDED TO BE DONE
